Prayers to Saint Joseph: Selling a House, Finding Employment, or Seeking Protection

There are a lot of prayers to St Joseph that one can incorporate into their lives. The Church does not restrict anyone in any way when it comes to this holy man. We have read many prayers that express love towards this man and most of them are aimed towards his worthy intentions.

We will now look at some of St Joseph’s prayers that you can incorporate into your own life.

The first popular prayer to St Joseph is one that can help you to sell your house. He is known as the patron saint of workers and through his intercession has helped many people sell their homes.

A tradition at one point was to bury a statue of saint Joseph in the front garden when putting your house up for sale (you can read about this here). Make sure you place the stature in the plastic bag first and tidy over it nicely – nobody wants to buy a house with a fresh dug ditch in the yard!

After burying the statue make this prayer so St. Joseph can help sell your house

O, Saint Joseph, you who taught our Lord the carpenter’s trade,
and saw to it that he was always properly housed,
hear my earnest plea.
I want you to help me now as you helped your foster-child Jesus, and as you have helped many others in the matter of housing.
I wish to sell this house quickly, easily, and profitably
and I implore you to grant my wish by bringing me a good buyer,
one who is eager, compliant, and honest,
and by letting nothing impede the rapid conclusion of the sale.

This is the Immaculate Conception or the Immaculate Heart prayer which says: Lord, come to my soul, and cleave to my heart in love, for thy will be the unity of the heavens, the earth and the seas. When we pray for the true God, we want to acknowledge his existence and his power over all that we do and the world in general. He is the creator of our bodies and lives. The Immaculate Conception prayer expresses the purest of intentions towards the one who alone we seek as the one who can free us from the grasp of sin.

The second most famous prayer to St Joseph is one that was penned by Innocent III. In this prayer, he implores the Virgin Mary to intercede with the Lord on our behalf. This is one of the strongest forms of prayer that we know that it is usually meant for an already born child. We also know that it is a powerful intercession as the Virgin’s Son is the one we are waiting to be born into the Kingdom of Heaven.

The third popular St Joseph prayer is the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. It is a powerful intercession that highlights the mother’s virtue of purity. It is a prayer that emphasizes the purity and innocence of Virgin Mary as she gives her life to the one she loves and is dedicated to him wholeheartedly. This prayer to St Joseph can be said anytime or anywhere and its effect is always the same; Virgin Mary, pray for us and have your face touched by the true God.

The fourth most popular prayer to St Joseph is the Adoration of the Mother. It is another powerful intercession that highlights the complete loveliness of Virgin Mary. It is a prayer that says prayers for the Mother of the Church, the Immaculate Conception, her never ending love for man and for all mankind. When we say the Adoration of the Mother we express the purest of desires towards the one who is believed the greatest and most loved of all, the Virgin Mary.

In saying our prayer to St Joseph, we express a number of important things about ourselves. We do not only ask for his intercession for us but we also ask for his protection from all the evil that can harm us. We promise to give him our loyalty, our compliance and our co-operation. We also ask him to protect the one who has been entrusted to his care. Prayers to the Immaculate Conception and the Virgin Mary are powerful acts of faith.
